Sweden: If Assange faces death row in US we won't extradite him

If no threat of punishment, Julian Assange will not be extradited to the United States. This was confirmed a few hours ago Cecilia Riddselius, rector of criminal affairs and international cooperation at the Swedish Ministry of Justice.
Thus the Scandinavian country tries to silence critics who think that the arrival of the country WikiLeaks (called to testify in a case of alleged violation) mean the extradition to the U.S.
and possible death sentence for revealing state secrets.
In the words of the newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau Riddselius:
Never deliver to a person who is threatened by the death penalty. Moreover, since the U.S. and its judicial estates has not taken any steps to Sweden to formally request the extradition of Julian Assange.
The senior official statements of Justice show that in the case that Assange arrived in Sweden and the United States requested his extradition, the European country will require collateral for that man to be executed in the United States .
Assange was arrested in the UK since December 2010 by order of the Prosecutor of Sweden, is currently at the embassy of Ecuador, a country that has granted him political asylum last Thursday.
